Nerys will explore the new reporting requirements under the 5th Money Laundering Directive that has now come into force, requiring the majority of UK resident trusts to be registered by the trustees on the HMRC Trust Registration Service before 1 September 2022 and will share practical tips as to how best to navigate the new requirements.

“The Missing Billions – Unclaimed Assets in the UK”
Emma will cover an assessment and investigation into the unclaimed asset minefield in the UK and focuses on:
- Estimation of the value of unclaimed assets (banks, NS&I, and pension fund figures)
- The How and Why the asset pot accumulates, what is held where, how it grows, and why it remains unclaimed
- Barclays – a case study in a missing asset
- The Dormant Asset Scheme Act timeframe and how it will affect probate professionals
- Obligations of an Executor and implications for Beneficiaries and probate practitioners in administering the Estate
- Best practice and due diligence in locating assets and administering estates
The session will take place from 10.30am until 12 noon on the 15th June, with registration from 10.00am.
