His Honour Judge Vavrecka and Danielle Peters on behalf of The Hertfordshire Family Justice Board are delighted to welcome Graeme Fraser and Rachel Rogers of the family law organisation, Resolution.
Resolution was founded in 1982 and is well known as an organisation of family justice professionals committed to working with families and individuals to resolve family issues in a constructive way. To mark their 40th anniversary, Resolution have published their ‘Vision for Family Justice’ setting out where and how changes need to be made to address the current issues facing the family justice system.
Graeme and Rachel will address Resolution’s key recommendations as they relate to unmarried and cohabiting couples; helping families to find solutions; protecting the vulnerable; how the family courts might better meet the needs of families; and making family law fit for purpose.
Graeme Fraser– Graeme is a member of Resolution’s National Committee, a member of Resolution’s Family Law Reform Group and Chair of Resolution’s Cohabitation Committee. Graeme is the head of family law and a partner at Williams Sturges LLP. Graeme has specialised in Family Law for over 25 years and is well known in the legal community through thought leadership, committee work, training Members and his work as a media spokesman. He has spearheaded the campaign for Cohabitation Law Reform in England and Wales. As Chair of Resolution’s Cohabitation Committee, he has been able to influence practice and policy that positively impacts his peers and improves outcomes for separating families.
Rachel Rogers – Head of Policy at Resolution. Rachel supports Resolution’s campaigning work for better laws for families and children undergoing family change; co-ordinates responses to Government and other consultations; leads liaison on policy issues with other professional bodies and civil servants, including at the Ministry of Justice, regularly participating in working and advisory groups; leads development of policy positions working with Resolution’s Committees; and advises on policy issues to colleagues and members. Prior to this she held various policy roles at The Law Society of England and Wales and has practised as a family law solicitor.
The venue will be at the University of Hertfordshire’s School of Law at the De Havilland Campus, St Albans Road West, Hatfield AL10 9EU. The talk will take place in Lecture Theatre N002 on that Campus.

There will be a charge of £12 to attend the event which will include refreshments after the event.
